Introductory Theater Ensemble
AMT introduces young kids to singing and dancing with theater games and repetition. Whether you have a young actor destined for Broadway or someone who just wants to be with their peers and have fun, AMT is the place for them! This group will help young kids build the foundation necessary to take on the big stage as they get older. Kids in AMT will not be in the big shows, but instead will partake in an exciting class series that ends with a showcase for parents.
Spring 2025: AMT Acting/Singing/Dancing class series theme: Matilda!
Rehearsals are once per week on Sunday from 12:00-1:00pm beginning February 15 – May 10. No class on Easter, April 5. Registration is first come, first serve for up to 20 children ages 4-7. Cost is $195, plus the yearly registration fee of $50 to sign up for classes and dance. $100 of this is a non-refundable deposit should you need to drop from the class.
On the last day of class, we have a mini showcase/performance. Our little actors dress up in costumes and show their parents what they have learned over the 12-week class series. Our teacher is amazing and kids love this movement, music and play-based class.
AJT
(Asheville Junior Theater)
ages 8-18
Recreational Theater Ensemble
AJT is the perfect entry point for young performers eager to shine on stage! Designed for kids who are new to theater, younger actors, or seasoned actors looking to grow into lead roles, this group offers a fun, supportive, and low-commitment way to build confidence and develop essential stage skills.
With just one rehearsal per week until we get closer to the show (two for leads), students will explore the fundamentals of acting, singing, and dancing. The season begins in early February 2026 and will conclude with two performances on Saturday June 13th at the newly outfitted AJT Black Box Theater.

Cost is $450, plus the yearly membership fee of $50. *Costumes are included, but are for use in this musical only and will remain the property of AJT.
ART
(Asheville Repertory Theater)
ages 13-adult
Advanced Theater Ensemble
ART is our most advanced theater group, designed for passionate and experienced performers who are ready to fully commit to their craft. This elite ensemble is for actors who take theater seriously and are eager to embrace the rigor, discipline, and artistry of professional-level productions.
Our inaugural show at ART beginning in early February 2026 will be the beloved and powerful full Broadway version of Little Women, offering actors the opportunity to bring richly developed characters to life in a demanding and rewarding show.
ART actors rehearse twice per week on Fridays and Sundays, with rehearsals increasing to 4–5 times per week as showtime approaches. These performers are challenged with full-length musicals (not just JR versions) and have the exciting opportunity to collaborate with adult actors, gaining real-world experience in a dynamic, high-level theater environment.
ART actors are encouraged to deepen their training by enrolling in supplemental dance and music classes, helping them grow into versatile, well-rounded performers.
This group is perfect for students who are hungry for growth, committed to excellence, and excited to take on demanding roles with professionalism and passion. ART is where dedication meets opportunity—and stars are born.
Cost is $450 per show, plus the yearly membership fee of $50, which includes twice-weekly rehearsals and more frequent rehearsals as the show nears. This price works out to less than $3 per hour!!! *Costumes are included, but are for use in this musical only and will remain the property of ART.
